OJSC Yenisei Territorial Generating Company ( TGC-13)”, being one of the largest companies in Eastern Siberia providing the industrial complex and the population with heat and electric power, considers social responsibility as a priority of its development. This aspect is reflected in the Company’s mission: Providing all sections of the population, including the business community, with reliable and uninterrupted energy, in the most environmentally-friendly way. • Diligent business practice - supporting diligent business practice among suppliers, business partners and company consumers.• Environmental and resource saving activity - measures for reduction of a harmful influence on the environment.
• Development oflocal society - programmes and measures supporting socially unprotected parts of population, rendering support to children and young people, assistance in preservation and development of cultural and historical objects, sponsoring local cultural, educational and sports organisations and events, maintenance of socially-significant research and campaigns, participation in charity actions.
• Personnel development - strategy of personnel development for the purpose of attracting and retaining qualified employees (training and professional development, application of motivational schemes of remuneration, providing employees with social benefits, creating conditions for rest and leisure, maintenance of internal communication in the organisation, participation of employees in making administrative decisions).
• Socially responsible re-structuring – socially focused re-structuring, first of all in the interests of the personnel of the company, with preservation of working places, social benefits, etc.
• Socially responsible investing - investing aimed at not only achieving financial profits, but also at realising social goals through investments in socially significant establishments.
Social Responsibility
The Company gives close attention to the realisation of principles of social responsibility. The majority of the Company’s generating plants are the core of the development of the economy and industry in the towns and areas where they are located, and also of the region as a whole.The enterprises comprising OJSC Yenisei TGC ( TGC-13) are the largest tax payers in municipal and regional budgets, paying taxes and making other obligatory payments in full and in due time. Thus in the territory of Krasnoyarsk region the power industry entities take second place in terms of the amount of taxes contributed to the local budget after OJSC Norilsk Nickel.
Great attention is given to the establishment of partnerships with municipal authorities on the basis of mutually beneficial, transparent relationships. In particular, the programme of closing down out-of-date municipal boiler-houses has been supported by the local authorities. Providing enterprises and the population with heat generated by CHPs, will enable a number of important social problems to be solved: improving the ecological situation; connecting new consumers and finally promoting the development of the social and economic sphere.
The Company is interested in training skilled professional workers for branch enterprises and in the development of the higher and technical professional education system. The programme to improve professional training is being realised together with the educational institutions of the region.
The system of personnel training and retraining used in the Company is based on modern educational technologies and provides conformity of the personnel qualification with the requirements of current and potential activity of the Company. Most professional training of workers (about 70 %) is being performed by the Company’s own educational services that reflects its specific corporate professional character to the maximum degree. At the same time, administrative and economic training of the managing staff involves leading educational institutions and centers, both domestic and international . The company contributes to 1.5 % of the employee wages fund for personnel training.
One more priority problem of a socially responsible business is protection of the environment against harmful emissions in the process of exploitation of power enterprises. While developing modern power installations both improved work efficiency and a decrease in emissions of harmful substances into the environment are equally important.
